Originally from Cardiff, Wales UK,
my family and I relocated to Florida USA in 1987.
I specialize in veneering, finish
work, steering wheel restoration and wood accessories for Jaguar,
Rolls Royce, Bentley and various other British marques.
Traditional techniques merge with modern multi stage finishes to
produce a high quality, durable product.
Please feel free to contact me regarding
anything wood related you may require. If I do not have it,
can't make it or restore it, I will be happy to refer you to someone
who can.
Shipping your wood for restoration:
Please be sure to pack well, and at a minimum, ship via USPS Priority
mail. UPS or FedEx is the preferred method.
All metal hardware, clips, screws, fasteners etc. should be
removed from the woodwork prior to packing. Often these small
parts get misplaced, so they are much better off in your safe keeping.
There are a few exceptions to the rule, as glove box lid locks and
hinges can be left on for refitting when the job is complete.
Hours are Monday - Friday 10am-6pm EST Tel: (407) 774-5332 If
no answer, please leave a message and I will return your call as
soon as possible.
Shipping address:
British Autowood, Attn: Saul Chaplin, 1161 West Lake Brantley
Rd, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714 USA.
Please include a note with all your details and contact information
in with the package. Also list any special requirements, as well
as outlining what you would like done. I receive a lot of packages
and being a "one man band", without this information there
could be a delay in getting your work into the schedule.
Please do not assume I will remember any specifics from previous
emails! I much prefer to discuss your requirements over the phone,
as the back and forth questions of several emails can often be wrapped
up in a 5 min telephone conversation.
I do however keep up with FACEBOOK, so please join me. Search
British Autowood & send a friend request.
