Installation 1988-2008 Jaguar
models
On all models except XJS, Jaguar fitted an adjustable
nut that is screwed onto the shifter stalk ahead of the gear shift
knob. This nut is chrome on the 2003> cars. The factory knob
simply unscrews anti-clockwise, and this nut must be held steady
while doing so. The replacement knob is screwed on and the nut is
used to tighten against it's base and align the emblem in the correct
position. For the later XJS models that use a screw-on knob, the
locknut from another Jaguar model needs to be used.
